Bella's Fish - Dead or Alive?

I am so excited to share with you my new imovie!  Take one minute to laugh while you watch Bella playing with a dead fish on the beach!  Funny!
Please share it with your friends...

Hilarious video of my one year old grandchild, Bella, playing with a fish in a tidal pool on St. Simons Island.

She tries to pick it up and carry it, putting her finger in her mouth.

My grandson caught the fish and we put it in the water.  I could not believe it when she tried to pick it up.  So glad that I had my ipad with me.  I took 25 minutes of video used the best of it.  I have an extended version.  Email me if you want the link to that one.

Look for more videos at youtube.com/SwimWithMissBea

Funny things happen on vacation?

Be sure that you let me know how you like it!

New year's Resolutions - Really!

I want to work as "hard" as last year...
I was looking at last year's resolutions and can't believe how much time I spent last year writing about it.  I even called this time "a compulsion".  I think it is because I had just retired and felt that I had to make the best of each moment.  I still feel that way but am much more relaxed about it.
What are your 2013 goals?

I do like that last year I wrote 2 different types of resolutions but I want to be more specific...

TO BE in 2012:  Working on these personal goals
Healthy habits
Sleep well
Awareness when eating
Increase in spirituality

Nourish and develop more loving relationships
Consider options for my Swim business (swimbea.com)

Nancy from Blissed out Grandma wants more energy in the new year.  Me too!

In 2013 I want TO BE:
More healthy: swimming, and get rid of my hip pain
cooking different options, (without processed flours)
Ignoring "bad" food when not at home
Sleeping without "drugs"
More God aware
More loving

Eat more lobsters!!
TO DO in 2012:
Playing with the grandkids
Traveling / Visiting family and friends
Fishing / Beach bumming
Writing / Reading
Crafting/ sewing Pictures - using old ones and taking new ones
Making jewelry, beading
Organizing - have to do it...

More TEA PARTIES!
TO DO in 2013, I want to continue with these same TO DO goals.  I didn't do jewelry making and not much organizing nor traveling, but plenty of playing, fishing and beach bumming, some crafting and sewing.  I wrote alot until October...
Now we have an ipad for pictures and a new camera that fits in my purse, I want to take lots more pictures
NEW:
Learn about apps, "data plans", and getting an iphone
Sell lots more Swim with Miss Bea dvd's
Learn to make an ebook about kids Swimming
Get a ping pong table
And make more blogging friends!
Organizing - have to do it...
BE ORGANIZED!

I'll strive to live in the present moment

even if sometimes it's just too hard!!

My grandkids under water!

I loved teaching baby swimming lessons for 35 years, but the most fun of all is teaching my own grandchildren!  Andrew inspired me to make the Learn to Swim with Miss Bea dvd when he was a baby.  He is my main star!  And now he is 8 years old.
Baby Andrew on the dvd cover

Knowing that I would only have a few more times in our neighbor's pool with the grandchildren, I got a cheapie underwater camera and took some pictures.

Already now the water is much cooler.

Caroline wouldn't even jump in this last time.

Caroline is freezing after 15 minutes in the pool!

I had to bribe her with my hat to even get her in the pool and let her dunk me more than usual to get her to stay in the water.
Caroline just swam to get the hat from the bottom.  We are practicing blowing bubbles.

Anyway, a few weeks ago when it was still hot outside everyone came to swim.

Mimi and grandkids minus Isabella.  (Look for her at the end of this post.)

They went under and through the hulahoop

My kids swim with and without goggles so that they don't get addicted to the goggles.

Read about Andrew's first swim meet.

Durham is not too sure about the whole going under the water thing.
I don't get to practice with him very often.

Look at these eyes!
Maybe we'll have hot enough days again to heat up the pool again- and warmer nights!
I'm looking for an indoor pool that's closer than the one I used last year!
Isabella slept the whole time!

Learn to Swim with Miss Bea dvd- Introduction

I'm celebrating 7 years since I published my dvd: Learn to Swim with Miss Bea in English and Spanish.  I have sold almost 1000 copies in over 15 countries on my website and on Amazon.  Since I am retired from full time teaching now, I have decided to do some serious marketing again.  I like to do it all myself and have been reading books and taking lots of notes.  Now that I have the introduction section of the dvd on youtube for everyone to see, I feel compelled to continue to more media marketing.  What do you think?  Need a baby gift?

Swimming lessons with Caroline

I finally have pictures of swimming lessons with Caroline.  I usually pick her up early at school on Wednesdays and we go to the new Cumming Aquatic Center.  Then on to my house.  She spends the night and I take her to school before lunch on Thursday.
Last week, my sister, Cristi was here for a few days and she went with me to take pictures.  She now has an ear infection again so we won't be able to go this week. :(
She is doing so great in the pool!  It's so much fun and is reminding me of that I can need to promote my dvd.  I need to get to work on that!
This is my new blog: Learn to Swim with Miss Bea.   This is my website that I sell my dvd.     I also have it for sale on Amazon here.  But I make more money on my own website.  You can use paypal.
Good job!  Give me five!

Swim to the steps and learn to stand up.

Get a little help going to the side.

Floating - looking for airplanes... There was another baby at the pool that day and she loved to look at him.

We always rinse off in the shower and wash our hair.  No chlorine residue!  It is so cold in the locker room!

We put on cream all over!

Oprah says: Be passionate about who you are

I feel like Caroline's trying to get to the other side of a decision!
I have to make a decision.
Now is the time - Spring is here and parents are starting to plan swimming lessons for their kids.  I have to decide what I'm going to do with my Learn to Swim with Miss Bea dvd.  I heartily believe in the purpose and need for my swim dvd.  I published it 5 years ago and many parents and children have benefited from it.  Since I quit teaching swimming 3 years ago, I have been selling it on my website and on amazon.  I want to promote it in new and better ways and am ready to invest some money and effort.  I started a facebook page but have not done much with it and I need 20 likes in order to get to the next step.  You could help me out right now with that and write a comment!

I know that I must do all that is required.   I am reading and studying what I have to do and know that it will be work and I'm not sure that I want to work...  but I want to do it for God's glory.

Oprah said:  "When you're passionate about who you are, it brings honor to God."  ... "That's when God will breathe in your direction and the seeds of greatness in you will take root and begin to flourish."
I guess that now that I am retired it is a matter of recreating the passion that I had so that the greatness can have a chance to flourish again.  If I want to...
Memories of swimming lessons - the video stars!

I have been doing some small projects.  I just finished changing all my VHS videos (family videos and videos of my travels for school and with students) into DVD videos.  I made 36!  Now I want to watch my super 8 videos and see how much to change to DVD's.
Also, we are going to the condo.
I started pressure-washing the driveway today.  That will take days!
We have the garden to plant...

Let's always laugh at life!  Watch the video of baby Durham laughing and enjoy!
